Ingredients
Cake Batter
- 2 C Sugar
- 2 C Flour
- 1 Stick Margarine
- 1/2 C Shortening , may use margarine
- 4 Tbsp Cocoa , powdered & unsweetened
- 1 C Water
- 2 Eggs , beaten
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Icing
- 1 Stick Margarine
- 4 Tbsp Cocoa
- 1 Box Confectioners Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Chopped nuts , optional

Instructions
- Mix flour and sugar in mixing bowl
- Put margarine, shortening, cocoa and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla to saucepan mixture.
- Add contents of saucepan to flour and sugar mixture
- Mix well
- Pour into greased and floured jelly roll pan
- Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes
- Start icing five minutes before cake is done.
- For Icing - put margarine, cocoa and milk in a saucepan
- Bring to a boil stirring to keep from scorching
- Take off stove
- Stir in vanilla
- Add confectioners sugar and stir well
- Add nuts if desired
- Pour icing on cake as soon as it comes out of the oven
- Cool and serve
