Perhaps Mark's favorite cookie. Soft, cake like, great with coffee or milk.

Ingredients
3 1/3CBrown Sugar
5 1/3COatmeal
2 1/2tspBaking Powder
4Eggs
1 1/2tspBaking Powder
1/2BoxRaisins (2-3 Cups)
3 3/4CFlour
1 2/3CLard or fryings
1tspCinnamon
1tspGround Cloves
1tspSalt
12TbspMilk
1 1/2 CupChopped nuts
Instructions
Cream sugar and shortening
Beat eggs and milk together and mix in.
Add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
Add oatmeal, nuts and raisins
Add flour
Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet
Bake at 400 degrees until firm and brown around edges. No fingerprint should remain when touched.
