From Jeanette's Recipe Cards
Ingredients
  • 1lb Butter
  • 1lb Flour
  • 8 Egg Yolks
  • 1tsp Vanilla
  • 1C Sweet Cream or Canned Milk
  • 1tsp Whisky or Vinegar
Filling
  • 8 Egg Whites, beaten until stiff
  • 2C Sugar
  • 1lb Ground Walnut Meats
Instructions
  1. Mix flour and butter like a pie crust
  2. Add egg yolks, vanilla, whiskey and mix with knife
  3. Add milk until dough holds together beginning with 1/2 amount
  4. Slap onto board
  5. Break into pieces
  6. Roll into walnut size balls
  7. Refrigerate dough overnight
For Filling
  1. Gradually beat sugar into egg whites
  2. Fold in walnut meats
Assemble and Bake
  1. Take dough our of refrigerator and roll out balls to paper thin
  2. Put 1 teaspoon of filling in each and roll together, pinching ends
  3. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes
