Chuletas de Cerdo a la Morelia
Has stars next to it and says Really Good From a gourmet club. - Originally from Senora Maria Luisa Carillo de Padilla, Manager of the Hotel Acueducto in Morelia. Note says that add more spice to taste.
Ingredients
  • 4 Thick Loin Pork Chops
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Glove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2tsp Mild Chili Powder
  • Pinch Oregano
  • Pinch Cumin
  • 1C Water
  • 1Tbsp Dry Vermouth
Instructions
  1. Season chops with salt and pepper
  2. Fry in hot oil until nicely browned
  3. Remove from pan
  4. Saute onion and garlic, adding a little more oil if needed.
  5. Stir in chili powder, oregano, cumin and water
  6. Return chops to pan
  7. Spoon sauce over chops
  8. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes
  9. Stir in Vermouth just before serving.
