Blondies with Pecans and Chocolate Chips
From Bon Appétit, contributed by Jenn. Jenn also stirs a few chocolate chips into the batter as well as putting the 3/4 cup on top.
Ingredients
  • 2C Flour
  • 1tsp Baking Powder
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1/4 C Butter, unsalted
  • 2C Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 C Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3/4C Chopped Pecans
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Butter and flour 13x9x2 baking pan
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in medium bowl
  4. Melt butter in large saucepan
  5. Remove saucepan from heat.
  6. Add sugar and whisk to blend.
  7. Whisk in eggs and vanilla extract
  8. Gradually stir in flour mixture (batter will be thick)
  9. Spread batter in pan
  10. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans
  11. Bake blondies until tester inserted into center comes out with moist crumbs - about 25 minutes
  12. Cool in pan on rack
  13. Cover and let stand at room temperature
  14. Cut into squares and serve.
