Anne's Pralines
These just melt in your mouth. Recipe was given to me by Anne Wilkinson in Manassas. She made these every year for her Christmas open house.
Ingredients
  • 1C Butter or Margarine
  • 1C Confectioners Sugar
  • 2C Flour
  • 1Tbsp Vanilla
  • 1C Pecans, finely chopped
Filling
  • 1/2C Butter or Margarine
  • 1C Brown Sugar
  • 1Dash Salt
  • 1/2C Evaporated Milk
  • 2C Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2tsp Vanilla
Instructions
  1. Cream all ingredients together.
  2. Form into 1" balls
  3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and make a thumbprint in each.
  4. Bake at 375 for 13 - 17 minutes - do not brown.
  5. Cool on racks
  6. Make Filling
  7. Melt butter in saucepan
  8. Add brown sugar and salt
  9. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly
  10. Add milk and bring to a boil again for 2 min temp should reach 232 degrees
  11. Remove from heat and cool to luke warm.
  12. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla
  13. Beat with a wooden spoon until smooth.
  14. Fill each thumbprint with about 1/2 tsp of filling.
