Herbed Onion Slices
From the Manassas Gourmet Club Dinner"Oktober Fest" 4 servings
Ingredients
  • 3Tbsp Butter or Margarine
  • 1Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2tsp Salt
  • Dash Pepper
  • 2 Large Onions, cut into 1/2" slices
  • 1/4C Celery, chopped fine
  • 2Tbsp Fresh Parsley, minced
  • 2Tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4tsp Dried Whole Oregano, crushed
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in a large skillet
  2. Stir in sugar, salt and pepper
  3. Arrange onion slices in a single layer over butter
  4. Sprinkle with chopped celery
  5. Cover and cook 10 minutes
  6. Turn onion slices
  7. Sprinkle with cheese and oregano
  8. Cover and cook an additional 10 minutes until onions are tender.
